Yes and Yes. Go ahead and flash through Cwm. You won't regret it.

I actually thinking of backing up the stock kernel first, any idea how to do that?

Why don't you backup the entire rom using your recovery. In that case if you want to revert, you can do it easily.

If you still want to backup the kernel only, you have KTool free from the market. It even can backup your EFS.

Which exact kernel did you flash ? What is neatrom 6,5 based on ?

Sorry, I don't quite follow every ROM, especially now my I9300 isn't my daily driver anymore.
