MMWolverine wrote:Hi yank555, first of all I have to say GREAT WORK! I really liked your kernels on previous builds, now I'm using v4.0 on Omega v51 (4.3). I had some problems losing root access, so I flashed the superSu link you provided. The version is outdated, maybe you can use this one... http://download.chainfire.eu/351/ Just a suggestion, as I shared the fix to our Omega thread. Cwm/philz recovery sources should be updated soon, to remove the annoying "fix root" message.

Not certain that will work, as it does lack the su daemon binary, which is inside the 1.51 zip... and I suppose that's the one helping out not losing root, not certain, though.

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried out both 1.51 and 1.65, didn't lose root with either of them. Maybe we need more opinions on this, as some users lose root, some don't. I'll keep you informed how it goes.

Best regards,

Absolutely, only thing I'd not like is a hosted direct downloadable kernel zip ;)

The thing is, once you have flashed 1.51, you have the daemon, 1.61 still runs it at boot, but if you just flash the 1.61 zip, you'll not have the daemon...

And I don't know if the lags is really a governor thing or more of a zram messup... there's frontcache code in the kernel etc. (unused in fact) which clashed a bit with my sources since I had quite a few zram related updates and zcache etc... in mine, and I kept my implementation there as it works pretty fine.

Well one of the "fixes" for the lag in the xda forums was to change the governor to on demand. Not a good solution I know, but it appeared to work for those that tried it.

For the wakeup lag ? Makes sense, as ondemand will keep 4 cores online at all times, so yes, it will wake up faster ;)

Is it slow using PegasusQ on my kernel ? As PegasusQ is full stock, so at Samsung Update 12 level. Personally I don't think PegasusQ is misbehaving, but I may be wrong...

I'll give a look at the changes in my repo... one sec...

PegasusQ most certainly is not in itself causing the issues...

This is the diff :

Code: Select all
168c168
< #define FREQ_FOR_RESPONSIVENESS         (400000)
---
> #define FREQ_FOR_RESPONSIVENESS         (500000)

---

So all that happened, is that a frequency for responsiveness has been bumped up from 400MHz to 500MHz and there is one more read-only file in the sysfs interface.
