There is a workaround in the ROM thread, you'd need to create a file in /data if I remeber correctly.

I hope this will be solved next week when I have time to apply some changes from n7100 KK sources. But no time to look into this until next monday at the earliest.

Have you checked with BBS and/or Wakelock Detector ? Kernels don't usually drain battery, userspace causes this (ROM/apps), as mkst wakelocks for example are requested by userspace, and kernel does what it's told...

When connecting an HDMI / MHL cable, the phone hang up. The display freezes and it must be removed the battery.
Please fix this bug.

1) I very much doubt it's an "easy kernel fix" since the ROM was ported from a different device and we have no sources of the ROM-side to look at

2) it needed to be debloated to fit in the S3, debloating the wrong app caused exactly this on previous stock i9300 ROMs

3) without more info, I won't be able to look into anything at all, at least provide a logcat (while plugging in the MHL adapter) and last_kmsg (after the device rebooted)

BTW, I don't understand why so many people go through the hassle of removing the back cover and the battery, long-press powerkey should reboot the device in 99.9% of the cases.

That is a balance thing, the lower the values, the later app get killed.

But too low value and you'll be facing lags, real ones, not microlags.

There is just 1Gb of RAM available, there's no magic way around that fact...

So in essence, lower and test, lower and test ... until it's bad again, the you'll know which settong works for you use.
