I'm using this kernel in the port of note II (by javilonas) and it works fine.

but cifs module works?

I'm trying to mount network drives locally but the cifs module is not loaded. "/lib/modules/cifs.ko" or "/system/lib/modules/cifs.ko" give me the same error.

Ntfs module load without problems

Sorry for my English

What exact error do your get about the cifs module ?

I'm trying to mount my network drives with cifs in a local folder into sdcard to use xbmc.

I'm using the apk "mount manager" or "cifs manager" and does not work.

mount manager returns this message "cifs faild: No such device".

cifs operates on a tab3 jb 4.1.2. with my network drives.

This is an example working on a tab3 (jb 4.1.2 stock + blackhawk kernel) with "mount manager".

The cifs module and others are loaded.

It may be that this cifs module is not loaded in your kernel?

Not by default, some apps load it, you can also choose to load it in Aroma.

I'd need to check on my device, but cifs mounting has been a pain since JB and way worse since KK :(

I've stopped using it altgehter...

In the Aroma installer when I select the option yank555, cifs loaded by default. In a terminal with "lsmod" cfis is not laded.

If I try to load it with "insmod" command as superuser shows me this error

init_module "cifs.ko" / system / lib / modules / cifs.ko failed (No such file or directory)

Thanks you great job. ;)

I'd have to check, not at home now, no S3 at hand to look at it...

Send from my 'proudly eFused' Note 3 (n9005) running Temasek v85 on Yank555.lu htle v1.0b-beta8 (3.4.92) kernel.

Thank you for your hard work on all kernels, but on my device Omega v.58 + kernel v4.2a-beta1 is not good combination.
With almost every run of waze my phone reboot and got stuck on walking robot screen :(
I just rollback to 4.2.

If 4.2 works and 4.2-beta1 does not, then it's not kernel releated, the only difference is zzmoove 0.8 -> 0.9alpha1, and there's very very very little change, and it's nothing that could hurt stability :(

On XDA someone mentioned a spanish kernel that seems to work pretty good.
Maybe you could take al look at the devs github to see if you can find something useful: https://github.com/javilonas?tab=activity
