Hey guys, first post here, blabla.
I decided to switch back to that neat little Yank Kernel, get's me everytime when it comes to Batterytime.
The STweaks and Boeffla Kernel config app are nice but no must have.

I'm running Yank555.lu-OMNI-4.4-v1.7 on a Slimkat 4.4.2 build 4, everything is fine.

There's just one little Problem: Touch to wake won't work. But I got this Problem also with that also nice Boeffla Kernel.
Has anyone experienced this before? I Tried to google it but maybe I should take a "how to google stuff on the internet"-lesson.
If the first response will be a link to a post with the same problem, I'm very sorry.

Hmm ... I know that OMNI potentially has included (or let's say may, as I haven't looked at their ROM lately) controls for touchwake in the settings, as their kernel includer touchwake as well...

So that might override the settings for it in Aroma...

Try looking there ;)

Also, once you're fully booted (give it a few minutes after full reboot), look at this file : /sys/class/misc/touchwake/enabled

It should be at 1, if it's not (and equals 0), something has turned touchwake off again.

Now if it's at 1 and not working, we have a more serious issue ...

Thanks for your response!
I'm not running any OMNIROM, just your Kernel, Yank555.lu-OMNI-4.4-v1.7, compatible with SlimKat, OmniROM and so on.
My Rom is SlimKat.

Okay, the value of /sys/class/misc/touchwake/enabled is Zero, so it's just switched off.
What if I manually change the value to 1?

May changing between ROMs and Kernels be the source of the problem?

Slim is using parts of OMNI, that's why I mentioned them :)

If you set it to 1, it should work. But that means something is disabling it after my kernel config script turns it on... so that's why you might have a look in the system settings, just in case it's included in there in the meantime. If it's not, very strange ...

You did validate that touchwake is enabled in /system/etc/init.kernel.sh ?

Thanks for mentioning that Slim is using OMNI parts, that did the trick.
The touch to wake option was disabled in the settings. Now it works like a charm.

The init.kernel.sh is empty, by the way.

Empty ?! Shouldn't be... then it's normal touchwake is disabled anyway ;)

I'd reflash the kernel, but first in recovery format the cache partition (don't delete dalvik cache, there's no use), then reflash the kernel choosing "Settings only" in the last screen in Aroma.

That option exists, has for quite some time, first Aroma screen : "Installation mode" --> "Only Kernel" ;)

JP.

That still requires manual input in aroma. I was looking for some way to include in "FlashAfterUpdate" in Omni to automatically flash the kernel and its settings..

You'd need to repack the boot.img, kernel modules and your config into a simple flashable zip...

Not sure how to go about it. Can you direct me to a tutorial of sorts, please?

Well I don't have a link to such a tutorial, you need to know how to make a flashable zip ...

Maybe google for 'howto make Android flashable zip' could get you somewhere...
