OMNI Beta Kernel Update

Small update, zzmoove is 0.9beta1 now, no change in functionality, but you can now tweak away the auto fast scaling thresholds ;)

Also ramfs is updated to latest 4.4.3 OMNI (20140610).

NB: If you're looking for beta2, stop looking, it doesn't exist, it's beta3 to keep in line with TW KK kernel ;)

Changelog OMNI v1.7a-beta3 :

  • updated zzmoove to v0.9beta1 - auto fast scaling thresholds are sysfs configurable (ZaneZam)
  • updated to latest OMNI sources (1 commit, so nothing really important)
  • updated ramfs to OMNI nightly 20140610

  • This kernel works on OMNI 4.4.3 and should work on SlimKat 4.4.3 and works on Temasek 4.4.3.

A question!
If i want to update a ROM ... it means i have to flash your kernel again.
How do i flash the kernel without changing the previous settings i had before?
The process of using AROMA is quite unclear to me.
Your Kernel rocks :D

Your settings generate a script (/system/etc/init.kernel.sh). If you back up that file, and restore it, you keep the settings, you'd only need to flash the kernel only in Aroma.

Kein Problem.

*gnarf*.

Good afternoon, Yank, just a FYI, I've thoroughly tested your kernel on another ROM, one which is rapidly gaining a lot of users because of its features and reliability; it's called L-Droid, created by user Senior_Limpio. I had to use your OMNI version to make it work; the other created a bootloop.

Now, there's been much discussion in the development thread about the battery life of various kernels, so I decided to do a test. After a clean flash of an update of the ROM, I flashed Yank's kernel, and went through a full battery cycle. Because Senior is updating his ROM so frequently, I was then able to do a clean flash of a slightly newer version of the same ROM, and I flashed a different kernel, one which several users were claiming got great battery life, too. I took this through a full battery cycle, and indeed it did give good battery life; but I was able to prove that your kernel gives MUCH better battery life. I posted the results with screenshots to document them on the XDA Developers board here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy- ... 076/page65.

Anyway, I mostly just wanted to let you know that you have a great kernel, and to once again thank you for making it available.

p.s. I'd post this in German, since I took that as my language course in high school; but that was more than forty years ago, and I'll be honest, I wasn't Herr Gebhardt's best student; I'm sure all I would accomplish would be to give you a good belly laugh. :-)

Hi everyone, hi Yank555.
I would like to try your kernel, i've flashed it in recovery and done the aroma comfiguration.
Now, for manage various setting i've to reflash in recovery or there is an app for configuration? Boeffla and stweak doesn't work with this.
