Git a i9305 for the WE to play with (no rooting'n'stuff, though), Snapdragon and 2 Gb... That's the only config I can get, no 4Gb Snapdragon nor 2Gb Exynos octa :(

Don't think I'll bite, maybe gonna replace one of my S3 by a Note II, bigger screen and 2Gb as well ;)

OK, so I've played a bit with the S4 (i9505), so far, really not impressed...

Looks a little more stylish because of the metal looking plastic frame and it's a bit less rounded.

Other than that, screen is fine, but I've not found my old S3 being much worse. Difference in resolution, not noticed, so no big deal for me.

I'm not into benching, but what the heck, I threw an Antutu over it, and guess what ...

--> RANDOM REBOOT :lol:

Damn, I mean that thing is full stock, booted first time, just completed Google sign-in, installed 1 user-app and I get a random reboot as welcome ?!

OK, rebooted, went to the app drawer to rerun Antutu, app drawer lags ?! Seriously ??

Antutu went through this time, scored a nice 25655, not bad at all, but in using the thing, not much of a difference, probably only if you're into hard gaming.

Conclusion so far, thanx, but no thanx (and I could get it for free for work !).

Might get me a Note II instead :D

This S4 just needs YOUR kernel! And all random reboots and lags will be away...

After playing with the S4 I'm not impressed. There are some major software bugs with Octa-core and Snapdragon versions. Samsung should have used Android 4.1.2.

The Galaxy S4 is a no-brainer. Main reason? "Octa Core" means two seperate Quad's, which can NOT work parallel.
Second reason: No Wolfson, no boeffla --> shitty, muddy sound, without a punchy bass and without clear mid's and high's. I had a lot of work getting my vinyls and cd's digitalized into my beloved .ape with 24 bit and 1000+kbps. Damn, my S3 sounds better than the iPhone with their "lossless" file format.
The only positive things about the S4 would be... eerrrr... maybe.. the 2 gigs of RAM I don't really need.. and maybe the display. But for long texts I have my tablet (N10.. 2560x1600).

Alternatives? HTC One: Crap. No sd card --> I have apes. They are HUGE! I need my 64gb space. Oppo Find 5: Same problem, aswell as the HTC Butterfly, N4, etc..

I am really looking forward to the Nexus 5 and its competitors (hopefully one with a sdcard slot  )

Cheers!

Oh, and @yank: THANK YOU! Thank you very, very much for the kernel with integrated eargasm :D

Edit: Before I forget: I HATE touchwiz. Always did. Maybe always will. But I love my ParanoidAndroid a lot. No touchwitz (U C WUT I DID THERE? ;) ), no bloatware like the BILD App or "kaufda" 'nd sh*t, fast booting and cool kernels'n'mods.

I've read somewhere in the octacore thread over at xda that it can be made to use all 8 cores at once but I don't think it will be an easy feat to implement as it would probably require a complete rebase

On the topic of sound quality does no one else think that the EQ boosted as much as eargasm and Yankgasm the bass feels really bloated and muddy...bleeding way into the mids?

Also I thought that with EQ you should always lower frequencies rather than boosting them...for people using it maybe try lowering the mids instead of boosting the lows and highs, and then up the gain if its not loud enough.

I use it in conjunction with PowerAmp, where I do exactly that, YankGasm is there for my personal use, with my PowerAmp setting using my Sennheisers, it's not necessarily meant to be the sugested "best" :D

The others come as Andi offers them in his config app at the time.

There is so much between the MP3 and your ears to take into consideration, the h/w EQ is just one small step on the way to your ears...

Well you were pretty right, a Note 3 it is, as you can see in this Tapatalk signature ;)

This does not mean S3 kernels will stop, so no worries there ;)
