Yank? Now you are in CM11, do you continue to update your kernel for 4.3 TW rom?

For 4.3 yes, for 4.4 not for the moment, as I can't test anything as I would have to update the booloader and lose CM11.

Well my next move is to increase the longevity of the upper frequencies, saw a friends note3 in pieces the other day. we've both agreed we can squeeze in some type of decent miniature heats ink with a bit of rudimentary piping. I've noticed after 10 min of intensive gameplay the cpu can drop down to 1.5 and below.

This won't do, don't want to add any bulk to the device, just create an oem+ and transfer some heat away

end of the day samsung were bothered about getting "numbers" in the phone. Not actual runtimes

Not bad, hardware modding goes mobile :D

Only wank thing is that the chips are located against the screen. Makes it a lot harder, but by no means impossible. Always thought case design should incorporate cooling aspects, if designed with some thought the entire phone could be a heatsink. Instead of an oven "sigh"

Wow, that's sad to hear they don't think that way when designing a device :(

What's the alternative for a device? I will never buy an HTC. I strongly dislike LG and their ui, Sony I'm just not a fan of. What is your possible next device? Especially since the 2014 year will be huge huge for Samsung and their redesigns... Sounds like your leaning towards a nexus device.

Kernel Update

So setting screen off max low is good for battery ... but it's a pitty it will also cause a wakeup lag, since we just cannot have it all, can we ??

Well, YES WE CAN :D

You can now set a wakeup kick (frequency and delay) which will set CPU min. frequency to whatever you want for 0 to 10 seconds, so the wakeup process can be handled fast.

One little drawback, while this seems to work perfectly when you turn the device on, it doesn't when you receiver a phonecall, so whenever your device rings, just press home/power and you can speed up the wakeup quite a bit !

I'm just done coding this, so I haven't had the time to experiment much with it, try it out, find the settings that works best for you, my default is to kick the CPU to 2GHz for 1 second, working fine for me.

Changelog v0.8

  • added disable Wacom pen digitizer when S-Pen is inserted (idea CM11)
  • applied the tiny update 4 sourcedrop fix
  • updated CPU Hardlimit to v1.3 introducing CPU wakeup kick CPU min frequency and delay (Yank555.lu)
  • updated TouchWake to v1.3 (keep in line with CM11 version)

Be certain to pick the kernel below which fits your firmware !!!

I think most touchwiz users are using kitkat and they (and also i) can't try your kernel right now :( hoping in better days :D
