Hello guys,

This night while my phone was in charge (all data traffic off : airplane mode), the phone has rebooted by itself. It's the first time it happens.

I just wanna tell you because it may be kernel related, as the only change between other days and this night was the kernel a5 :).

Maybe it's some randomly reboot not related to kernel, but I'll tell you if it happens again.

Btw all is working fine for me with this new kernel, the phone is smooth, fast, and more and more battery friendly version after version :)

Was it a full reboot or a hot reboot ?

In case of a full reboot, can you post /porc/last_kmsg when this happens ?

I doubt that a4 -> a5 would make that difference, there are only a few lines of code that differ.

But that doesn not exclude it could be kernel related, but it would then also have happened on a4 in that case ;)

I think it's a full reboot, because my phone woke me up with two vibration, one for the shutdown and one for the powering on.

For the A4 I didn't use the same governor and tweaks :) (I don't tweak voltage or else, only governor, scheduler, gpu governor).

Here is the file you asked me, I hope it could help.

Aha ;)

What was your exact config when this happened ? That would also be very interesting to know ;)

All *DEMAND governors are said to cause issues on the new Samsung kernel sources base (CAF), so if you were running ondemand or intellidemand, might be linked.

Will have a look at the last_kmsg when I have a little more time...

JP.

EDIT :

Looks like the last entries are from Samsung display panel driver ... seen similar issues on CM as well ... will look into this as soon as I can manage some spare time.

Is there a way to export our config with Faux Clock?

Btw I'm on Intelliactive with Hotpug intelilplug enable

Eco mode enable for two cores

fiops for scheduler io

msm-adreno-tz for gpu

Do you need other settings ?

NB : Thanks for your help, take your time :) I know dev have a life too, I'm on the same case (I'm dev, and I've a little girl and a wife :) so not so much time to work on my custom rom for Note 3 :P )

Other than screen shots, no, I don't think there's a way to export settings.

That's all I needed, though ;)

I'm now running intellidemand with self-tweaked parameters and no reboot at all, so probably it ain't gotta do with it. In fact intellidemand is very stable as I've tried it with other kernels which offers this governor too. But I can't say the same for ondemand governor, seems that Imoseyon has got it sorted out.

Yank, will you bring over all Faux's latest updates into this kernel? Since this (Faux123/Yank555) should be the best of the best isn't it :P

If I will bring them in, yes, in fact most are already, some come from me as well (like mdnie, fast charge etc.) ... I'm handling faux's n9005 kernel to take some load off him, so this is in fact the original faux123 n9005 kernel, not just some spin-off ;)

He is adding his code on top of my sources, which are the n9005 branch in his repo, the other n9xxx TW KK kernels will be based on this one ;)

Some of the stuff he's adding are ideas taken from my hardlimit, which he implemented into his governor(s) so it can benfit all devices he supports, not just n9xxx (or rather Qualcomm s800) based devices.

In essence, you won't find nor miss in this kernel anything you wouldn't find in faux's other kernels for n9xxx devices ;)

JP.

PS: Tbh, I don't think I'll be investing time to get ondemand going on these sources... except if it's a simple commit to fix it, as I don't use that governor myself.

Thanks Yank! Kinda miss faux sound though :D

Yup saw that he's gonna add max screen off and wake up cpufrq boost controls into his intelliplug though and that he has had fixed simple ondemand GPU

BTW what is your current fav governor? ;)

Faux sound ??? It's been in since 001a1 ;)

My fav. governor ... well ... since I run CM and not TouchWiz, I don't / can't use this kernel and in my CM kernel I use yankactive, which is a 1:1 copy of interactive with different default tunable settings. I just made a copy of it, as I wanted users to have access to full stock interactive as well, so no magic in there !

I'm still "building up" my CM kernel, so it has not yet been "granted" faux's governors nor intelli-plug, I first want a reliable base... but I'm drifting off the topic of this thread... ;)
