Sad that you're giving up on the note 3 although I totally understand. If I hadn't dropped $750 on the Verizon developers edition I switch in a second. Anyways, I've been having trouble compiling and was wondering if I'm missing a step somewhere or something.

My build commands after adding the GCC 4.7 toolchain to my path are;
Code: Select all
export ARCH=arm
export CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi-
make VARIANT_DEFCONFIG=Yank555.lu_CM11-light_defconfig Yank555.lu_CM11-light_defconfig
make

This compiles it fine so I edited build_kernel.sh to change the temporary ramdisk path and then ran it. This apparently builds boot.img fine. I just used your .zip and switched out the boot.img and scsi_wait_scan.ko. When I flash it and reboot I don't make it past the Samsung screen (the one with the set warranty bit message). Flashing your official zip lets me boot up fine. I've had this problem building the CM source as well as Temasek's kernel and imoseyon's leankernel so I've been thinking I'm missing a step somewhere or my build environment is screwed up somehow. I would appreciate any suggestions you have.

I'm about finished setting up my Nexus, rooted, all apps on it ... let's see how it goes ;)

Just a preliminary, are the file sizes 'fine' ? I also use gcc 4.7.

JP.

Send from my Nexus 5 running stock rooted AOSP.

I'm also curious since it only been out since 8 July, exactly how much trouble you experienced before and mostly ; how many reboots a day before M8....?

Yep, of all the crashes I had, the Notification drawer was often involved, though not always.
