Yep, I will continue to maintain this kernel, even if I got other devices in the meantime ;)

Time is a bit of an issue atm :( Why would you want a frandom module ?? (Not that I really believe in any benefit, my kernels have a fix for normal random generator which keeps it from starving without reducing entropy nor keeping the device awake)

The Nexus, well, it's the main reason my time is limited, trying to finish my basic kernel for it ;)

JP.

Send from my Nexus 5 running stock rooted AOSP on Yank555.lu v1.0-alpha2 kernel.

Tried on VirtualBox on my computer and my dad's computer. No luck. I'm pretty much giving up on ever building a successful Note 3 kernel. Oh well. Yours is pretty close to wait I want anyways. As far as frandom goes it's all about street cred. Not sure if you know anything about video encoding but it's like using x264 with aq3 and other experimental features. It makes no visual difference but the file is bigger and people who know enough to check MediaInfo but not enough to know what it really means think you're the shit for using it. If you have some entropy tweaks already I suppose there's really no purpose for frandom.

EDIT: Super jealous of your Nexus. I would kill for some good, stable, Google-maintained AOSP. Unfortunately, if you want decent coverage in Chicago you need to go with Verizon and they will probably never have Nexus devices. CM M8 and ROMs based on such have turned out to be about as unstable as the older CM and CM based ROMs. Oh good do I want to avoid TW. I suppose I'll go back to CM htlevzw 1-30 for now. Luckily I'm not on the KK bootloader. Not updating stuff in a reasonable timeframe is one thing you can always count on Verizon for.

Well the entropy change that is in my kernel manages to not let random values starve, it keeps it populated, which should be what frandom is 'used for', but the advantage is the entropy quality is unchanged, whereas frandom has a lot worse entropy quality.

If you still are on the old booloader, good ! As pre unified CM is really rock solid, only battery isn't as good as on unified, but stability is more important than battery life, the batterg is huge anyway ;)

It's just crap for those who have the new bootloader as it's not an option anymore :(

Running Asylum Carbon Rom 4.4.4 with Nova Launcher on my Note 3. Had continual sudden reboots - particularly with bluetooth car connections. Installed your kernel with stock settings .... works like a charm, hasn't hiccupped once so far. Thanks so much!

What do you recommend I use to configure the kernel? Trickster mod or faux clock?

Loving how stable this is, good work yank.

Well I recommend to use Aroma to set the kernel config ;)

For on the fly changes I use fauxclock and system tuner myself, but it's more to 'look' than to change, I'm the set & forget kind of guy (hence Aroma ;)), I don't change settings much.
