Thanks for the nice/funny preaching and the explanation why you won't support CM anymore.
I hope my next device will be the Nexus 6 (I would prefer a Nexus 6 slim but nothing available...) but my carrier don't sell it until now.

That's a pitty, it's a really great device, if the size is to your liking (it is for me ;)).

As stated a few posts earlier, I won't be following CM, I'm contributing to Slim because it's AOSP based and I've gone Nexus to get rid of the need to use CM to have source based ROMs.

I prefer to put my time into ROM stuff rather than trying to follow CM, I just don't have enough free time for both :(

Kernal update

A kernelupdate with a few added goodis from faux, mainly zswap and a simple USB fastcharge (we don't need any AC fastcharge on shamu anyway, so this will do).

Biggest improvement is for non-US shamu owners using 5GHz WiFi, I fixed the issue of the device only using the lower 4 channels (out of 19 legal in Europe). This will respect the various country regulations, it will just add the so called "DFS" channels, which are channels above 48 and require the use of dynamic frequency selection.

Some reading :

--> EN301893 v1.7.2 regulations

--> 5GHz channels on Wikipedia

--> Whitepaper for 5GHz limitations (UK centered, but relevant for EU)

Changelog v0.6 (15/02/2015)

  • ramfs : reverted native kernel side USB-OTG support for SlimLP (reverted by SlimROMs)
  • added frontcache / zswap support (through faux123)
  • added simple fastcharge (faux123)
  • added krait-regulator.c: set default to 65 (faux123)
  • added smb135x-charger.c: increase polling time for ADC (faux123)
  • added arm/kernel/irq.c: remove irq affinity warnings (faux123)
  • Aroma settings : added zswap settings
  • added updated locale revision to use upper 5GHz DFS WiFi channels (Yank555-lu)
  • ramfs : reverted native kernel side USB-OTG support for SlimLP (reverted by SlimLP)

Kernel Update

Finally a big step forward, done with Qualcom's crappy CPU frequency management, m(ighty)p(oor)decision cal be replaced by intelliplug, thermal engine can be replaced by intellithermal and cpuboost can be replaced by my cpu hardlimit driver, which additionally allows for governor independant CPU screen on/off min/max, 2 step touchboost (fully configurable) and wakeup kick to boost CPU min when waking the device.

This is still fresh, been running it on my shamu for a few minutes, so enjoy and report back anything out of the ordinary !

Changelog v0.65 (22/02/2015)

  • ramfs : updated to Yank555.lu SlimLP as of 20140222
  • updated powersuspend to v1.7 - do only run state change if change actually requests a new state (Yank555.lu)
  • added CPU freq. HardLimit v2.2 (Yank555.lu)
  • removed cpu-boost completely

Changelog v0.61 (16/02/2015)

  • ramfs : updated to Yank555.lu SlimLP as of 20140216
  • ramfs : updated private busybox to v1.23.1-Stericson
  • added SELinux permissions for torch service
