I will stay away from Samsung for a little, last crap they pulled really makes me want to take a break from them...

Yup. I took a look at the note 3, but the efuse scared me away.
The S5 is only a S4 with a few more features I won't use, so totally not what I am looking for. (also, probably efuses)

Sony's Z2 looks interesting, but I really don't like glass.
HTC's M8 looks really promising. Not too big, (5" are my max.), aluminum body, expandable memory (woo-hoo! 128GB micro SD! I can finally take 50% of my total music in mp3s with me, on one chip!)
Sense doesn't look too shabby, and what really looks promising: since their beats time, they have a dedicated headphone amp. Hopefully we'll see that back.
Maybe with a few mods people can make a 20 band equalizer, and something similar to boefflas sound engine.
So the M8 might become my next investment.

Since the leaked video "review", I am really looking forward to it.
Poor little f*ck, and his poor parents. But it's so funny to see HTC's teasers now.. Oh god.

Well if it has an external SD slot, it really might be a good way back to htc after a small intermezzo at Samsung's...

Still waiting to see what the next Nexus might be, if there is one, that is.

Well, since the rumor mill talks about LG as the OEM, I don't really care anymore.
Also, it won't have an SD card slot. Google wants to push their services, because they don't earn jack with SD cards. (which is totally fine.)
So, unless the Nexus 6 is neither made by LG nor bigger than 5", I might consider it as a competitor.
But right now it's a fight between Sony, HTC and OPPO. (their Find 7 might be interesting.)

Cheers!

(explanation why : I multiply key feature with the sum of some not so important features. If a key feature is missing, the phone is a 0, and I won't buy it.)

I know, and I do agree ... just been so p*ssed off by all manufacturers I've got a phone from, that makes me look the Nexus way, my Nexus 7 is pretty much perfect to be honest, I don't even use a custom kernel (haven't even downloaded the sources nor look where to get them from !)

I'll through in one more detail, the open-source-ness of the hardware used, I'll never go for Exynos or similar stuff anymore.

My Note 3 (Qualcomm S800) is running CM11 so well, it's just brilliant and feels like a Nexus, and I'm ridden of all Samsung Crapware. The S3 never came that close to running perfectly, this after call drain bug haunted me, but I could live with it.

Well, HTC won't go with Samsung SOCs, but it do is in my term (I might post it some time, when it's finished). That's why LG is dead to me, and nothing they can or will do will ever came that. (I had the LG Optimus speed.. Actually, a few. Since they broke so fast.)
My Nexus 10 runs with paranoid android, just because of halo and the custom dpi. Also the KTManta kernel, so I can adjust the vibration (I hate it. 25% is more than enough.)
Since the Nexus 10, exynos chips are also a complete no go. (memory leaks, unoptimized source from Samsung for Google made the whole device more unstable than a hydrogen bomb, etc.)
I don't even care about the pixels anymore.. Since 720p I am more than happy.

Doesn't Oppo like to use Exynos chips, or am I mixing them up with someone else ?
